A dining set for four usually centres on a 120 cm table or a 100 to 110 cm round top; six seats calls for 160 to 180 cm of length, and eight starts at 200 cm. Add circulation on top of that: 90 to 100 cm clear from the table edge to the wall or nearest furniture, which is what a chair needs to pull out and a person needs to pass behind it. If your room cannot give up those 90 cm on one side, drop a table size before you drop a chair.
